Introduction to Judaism

An eighteen-week exploration for individuals and couples interested in deepening their understanding of what'Living Judaism" might mean for them. Designed for those interested in conversion as well as Jews who want to learn more. This class is offered in conjunction with the Union of Reform Judaism. New Emanuel Minyan Mini-Class: Psalms

The New Emanuel Minyan and the Lifelong Learning Council are offering a mini-class on the biblical Book of Psalms. Cantor Kliger will facilitate two sessions that will lead us through the musical psalms that enrich our Shabbat and festival liturgy. Other teachers will guide us through Psalms of healing, blessing and everyday living. Texts are studied in English, so there is no knowledge of Hebrew required.

This class is for those who were part of the Adult B'nai Mitzvah class last year. If you were not a part of the group last year but can decode Hebrew, you are welcome to join with the instructor's permission.

Classical Hebrew

This class will enable students to read and understand Hebrew of the siddur and the Bible. For those who know the aleph bet as well as those who want to learn it. Perfect follow-up to B'nai Mitzvah

Guided Autobiography: Writing the Stories of Your Life

Learn how to organize your life stories through themes and priming questions that evoke memories of events once known but filed away and seemingly forgotten. No writing experience necessary. Space is limited. Class is currently closed for the year.

Yoga with Michelle Aaron

Michelle Aaron is a certified Hatha Yoga instructor trained at Sacred Movement in Venice. Participants should not eat directly before class, wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel and a mat.

Project Zug uses the traditional method of hevruta (one-to-one learning) to develop and deepen connections between Jews from different communities across the world while studying Jewish topics of interest. Jewish Holiday Cooking

Learn to make the dishes traditionally featured on the Jewish holiday table. A series of five sessions with guest chefs that will include cooking for Sukkot, Shabbat, Hanukah, Passover, Challah and other sweet things.
