Introduction to Judaism

An eighteen-week exploration for individuals and couples interested in deepening their understanding of what "Living Judaism" might mean for them. Designed for those interested in conversion as well as Jews who want to learn more. This class is offered in conjunction with the Union of Reform Judaism. This class is taught by Rabbi Bassin (Wednesdays, 7:00-9:00 p.m., October 25 - March 21, excluding holidays). Yoga with Michelle Aaron

Michelle Aaron is a certified Hatha Yoga instructor trained at Sacred Movement in Venice. Participants should not eat directly before class, wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel and a mat.

Through the Eyes of Rashi

Engage in an ongoing discussion of the Torah text as then through the eyes of generations of its scholars, from Tamudic to mondern times. Guided by repected teacher, Dr. Chaim Plotzker, learn how the ancient texts and interpretations can add relevance to our modern lives. Adult B'Nai Mitzvah Class

In our two year Adult B'nai Mitzvah program learn Hebrew and deepen your connection to prayer and the Torah. The first part of the experience is a "Hebrew Crash Course" on reading and basic grammar. The second section of the program involves reading and understanding the Hebrew prayers. The last segment is learning to read from the Torah and write a d'var Torah, on the specific portion. The course culminates in a B'nai Mitzvah service, where participants lead prayers, read from Torah, and deliver their d'vrei Torah in front of the congregation, family, and friends.
