    Join us December 15, 2016 as our favorite comedians begin Hanukkah in the most entertaining way!

    Admission includes a complimentary beverage from the bar and light bites.

    Evening is hosted by Danielle Soto and headlining is Zach Sherwin (zachsherwin.com).
    Featuring Adam Feuerberg, Rachele Friedland, Alex Mandelberg, Chad Lurie and more...


    This event is part of the Infinite Light citywide Hanukkah festival, which is made possible by a partnership with NuRoots, a program of The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles – in conjunction with Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills' YoPro and JWT.

  • Day Long Meditation with ...


    A Meditation Mini Retreat with Rabbi Rachel Cowan, author of Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience and Spirit. Each session is $10; both sessions $18. Come to either one or both. 

    Two sessions are available. The event will take place in the Belle Chapel and Greer Social Hall at 300 N. Clark Drive, Beverly Hills. 
     


    Session One
    10:00- 12:30 for facilitators and participants in Wise Aging groups and for others who would like to be a part of a Wise Aging group in the future 

    Lunch Break
    12:30-2:00 Sandwiches available for pick up and purchase;  
    1:15- 1:45 Silent lunch with food meditation practice Greer Social Hall  

    Session Two
    2:00-5:00 Experiencing and Understanding Meditation as a Jewish Spiritual practice that brings greater personal meaning to prayer and study  

    Rabbi Cowan, formerly the Executive Director of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality, was named by Newsweek in 2007 and in 2010 as one of the 50 leading rabbis in the United States, and by the Forward in 2010 as one of the 50 leading women rabbis. Rabbi Cowan was featured in the PBS series The Jewish Americans. Her book and the trainings she has led has sparked Wise Aging groups across the country, including at Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills. 

     
    Parking will be available at the Temple Emanuel garage at 8844 Burton Way.

    We are excited to have you join us for the most incredible Hanukkah Bash here at Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills. We have an amazing craft workshop, delicious dinner and an unbelievable concert with the one and only Michelle Citrin.

    The Hanukkah Bash reservation for the dinner and concert is $8 per person or $10 at the door (children under 5 free.)

    Craft Workshop projects range from $5-30 on top of the Bash reservation price. 

    The craft projects include: glass mezzuzah making, animal menorahs, holiday decorations, decorative tin hamsas, festive felt bowls, beeswax candle making, decorative mugs, driftwood necklace & keychain holder. Limited spots for each craft so come on time and enjoy the most unique Hanukkah Bash this year!

    On Friday, March 24, 2017, join us for a one-of-a-kind ECC dinner preceding our fun Shabbat Spark service for families and adults. The dinner begins at 5:30 pm and will take place in our Greer Social Hall.  

    Get ready to "ignite the spark" of Shabbat with this truly electric and energy-filled service, featuring the Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills clergy, amazing 4th and 5th graders, Soul Singers, Intergenerational Choir, and band. Join us for Israeli dancing after the service!

    There is no need for prayer books as the whole service is projected onto a big screen.

    Students in grades 3 to 7 are invited to join us in our Havdalah Shul-In taking place on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 4:30 pm to Sunday, April 23, 2017, at 1:00 pm, after Religious School.
     
    The purpose of this Havdalah Shul-In is to:

    1. Provide your child with a super fun night of games and activities
    2. Build a sense of community among our students
    3. Observe and celebrate Havdalah
    4. Give parents a night off so they can have fun, too!

    Join us for a Shabbat evening of song celebrating freedom and the Passover holiday. Come be uplifted by the musical stylings of the Los Angeles Zimriyah Chorale, conducted by Nick Strimple, a master choir dedicated to performing Jewish music and music of the Jewish experience throughout time. 

    The service will also feature performances by our very own Cantor Lizzie Weiss, Temple Emanuel's Intergenerational Choir, and Soul Singers.

    Mazal tov to those of you who completed the 2016-2017 Religious School year at Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills! As your new Rabbi Educator, I am so excited to be joining the Temple Emanuel family.  It is going to be a very exciting year filled with new ideas and programs, all designed to futher develop your child(ren)'s Jewish identity. I look forward to meeting both new and returning families over the next year as we all continue to enrich our lives through Jewish education.

    The end of each year marks another milestone on your and your child(ren)’s Jewish journey.  Take a moment to celebrate all of this year’s learning and growing. Each member of the teaching staff, administration staff, and clergy are honored to partner with you to further develop your child(ren)'s Jewish identity and education. The opportunity to teach and learn from your child(ren) each year is as nourishing to us as we hope it is for you.
